Does anyone know if it is possible to still purchase the old Firestone "swamp" tires? We have the Rawhides on our Superchief and find the ride to be a little on the rough side at about 2.5psi - 3psi.
Somebody spoke about remanufacturing the old Firestones once. Is this still happening?
How much do these tires cost these days?
If we can't get them, what is a good solution to obtaining a softer ride on a beach heavily churned up by other 4wds?

You could run lower pressure (1.5 - 2.0 PSI) on your Rawhides, or look at Nanking chevrons. |

You can always try my air pillows. They are 15" square and if you put in just enough air to keep you off the seat, improve the ride tremendously.
$8.00 each shipping included. If you don't like them, you can send them back and get your money refunded.
I don't think any of those tires are being made. My guess is that you can drop your air pressure to about 2PSI and still keep your tires mounted assuming your bead area is clean and the mounter just used water for lubricant. |

You can also try Goodyear Runamucks. They're very soft. Goodyear Tera Tires (knobbys) are also good but not if you want to swim. I run with these two and the Carlisle Chevrons that RC sells on my Attexes. The runamucks are the softest but are also very expensive.

you can hold them at 2 psi with tubes to prevent bead leakes,
screws threw the rims to prevent rims from turning in the tires wich would ruin tubes.
