Well I bought an 01 Max II 450T with 12 hours for $3000. It has a rollbar, seatbelts and Rawhide III tires. I know its got a crappy chain and hollow axles but I figured that it would be a good first 6x6. What kinds of mods would be good? Seems like this is a good price. What do you guys think? I saw some with upgraded seats for us gimp (disabled) users. Anybody have any good information about that? Wheelchair mounts?

Thanks alot to Fred S. for all of the help and information.

Thanks,
Bill

It sounds like you got a great deal, Bill.

I'd add the Warn Winch package that RI markets. I got one for Christmas (thanks for being the source, Brandon!) for our new MaxII.

Hey Bill,

Sounds real good! I think that you have made a very good choice of machine for your your special needs. The added leg room and the slightly lower side entry should help you to get in and out of the Max II machine a little easier.

I also do agree with Bud, and warn winch package is a good idea to add, and if you plan to do any riding in the winter time in deep snow, then a the addition of the track kit later would also be a option to consider.

The racing style seat and over the shoulder type seat belt harness I saw over on Brandon Prices web site in one of the photo galleries. From what I read and hear, Brandon likes to hot rod his gear and machines and may be able to help you locate the racing style stuff that you are interested in. There are a few other poeple that are familiar with the ATV racing add on stuff that can probaby respond aslo, if they see and read these message postings.

Regadring a wheel chair mount, I have not saw any thing for that, however, that does not mean it does not exist. Worst case, you could sketch some thing up for a mounting bracket type set up and just have a fabricator make up a special bracket for you, that can bolt on the rear area or up on the cargo carrier area.

Unfortunately I have to limit the information that I post with my user name for a while any way. I was mailed a couple of computer viruses that I was forced to do battle with for a couple of days. I had my son trace down the originating I.P. address of the person's that sent them to me. If I mentioned who the originating source of the viruses was, it would only cause some bad feelings and a negative impact and potential problems for that company. I will only say that it was an employee of a major company. I contacted that companies I.T. mangager my self and provided him with the detailed internet tracing information of that person, and he assured me that it would be dealt with immediately and appologized for the inconvenience caused.

It was a really stupid thing to have happened, as a result of what I consider to be healthy and freindly discussions. Unfortunatly they chose the wrong person to attempt a childish computer based attack on. Some people just do not have a clue or realize that behind these message board user names are some real people that have experience and can draw upon resources far beyond their own small world and comprehension.

O well, thats life. Its good to hear that you did get a good machine to fit your needs, and that Fred was able to help you out.

the virus was an attachment sent from a mr smith and a few other fake names and addreses, i hope he isn't as irresponsible with his guns and gun club?

any how how did you track the source of the virus??
please tell us so we can trace these in the future, and stop em.

we might end up with a board of computer techs that no one dares send viruses or spam to.

so far i got no virus because i check attachments first , but who knows what viruses will be capable of in the future.
