I have a Lockley 295. The engine has been changed to a 395cc pull start suziki snowmobile engine. When I put my trouble light on hot wire its bright but when I hook up the lights it dims right down. I think I have sufficient ground. Any suggestions.

It sounds like you either have too much draw on the system (wrong headlights) or you have a defective rectifier. You may have a bad fuse in the rectifier. Some of the older ones have a fuse compartment built into the rectifer. Also check for other bad conections in the system. Try one headlight at a time and see if that helps.
