Greetings,
I have been trying to figure out how to help power my Attex through the water using a jet propulsion system. Currently, the only machines I have found that use a jet is the LandTamer. I e-mailed them, but they were not that interested in helping. Has anyone tried to rig something up? The trolling motor or boat engine set-up just doesn't seem to be as "hassle free". Wouldn't it be nice to flip a toggle and jet through the water? |

Hi all,
I have been tinkering with a cheap source of hydralic motors and pumps that might be suitable for this water propulsion.
Automotive power steering pumps the vane type are great sources of hydralic pressure at a relatively safe 1000-1500 psi. I see no reason why one of these pumps could not be driven as a motor by another one.
Just plumb them back to back with a resevoir and small cooler in the low pressure side put a prop off of a 10-15 Hp outboard on a short extension shaft through the hull via a seal add a rudder and voila.
A small spoolvalve would allow the system to be reverseable.
Just some thoughts. |

Are you talking about having a prop stick out the back of the six wheeler attached to a 10-15 hp motor? |

It has been done before. Check out the Hustler, Jet Druve, just like a jet ski. |

No i said use a prop off of an outboard on a shaft driven by a hydralic motor made out of a steering pump.

What happens to a jet pump when you go through the mud? The prop idea sounds better on an ATV. |
