I know I could figure something out but was wondering if anybody had pictures of the ramps they've built to load their AATV in the bed of their truck. Not the ramp themself but ramps or bridging to deal with the wheel wells and keep the AATV level. |

I don't have any pictures for you but I can try to get them.
I used 2x12s on edge, up against the wheel wells. I used 2 2x12s ,one in front and one in back, to connect the sides.
I then nailed 2x10s on the top to hold the machine. |

I would appreciate. I built my own deck so I'm pretty sure I could come up with something but it's always nice to see what others have done and what works. A picture is worth a thousand word. |

This subject has been covered before & what I did with my Max 2 was remove the 2 center wheels & tires This only takes a few minutes & the vehicle will still drive & turn like it's supposed to. You really don't even need a jack of course it might depend on how steep the ramps are that go into the back of your truck. Just drive the AATV's front wheels up on the ramps so the center wheels are off the ground remove them & drive on in the bed & drive your front wheels over the hump the hubs on the center wheels will not touch the wheel wells at least they didn't on my full size Ford. This way you won't have to carry all that extra weight and the AATV will ride down lower and be more secure. |

Howard- The next time I,m going on a long trip with somebody who carries their machine in the pickup bed I am going to try to get them to try your system. I like that the machine will be level and lower! For short trips, Brandon,s idea of throwing a pallett in the bed works fine, I have done it, and it,s too simple. W. Philip Cox |

I hauled mine like that from Indy to Tennessee more than once like that with no problem. |

I'm sure it would work but I'll avoid the trouble of removing tires and go with ramps over the wheelwells. I have a newer Ford F150 and the bed if fairly deep compared to most other pickups. I did a quick test with some scrap wood and a 2x10 on edge clears the wheelwells. So even on top of the ramps, the side of the beds are still high enough to keep it secure. I also already have a "headache rack" in my back window, that should prevent any accident. I'm picking up my new Frontier on Saturday, I'll show you guys the set up I have in mind when I'm done. |

Here is a picture of my platform. I use a piece of plywood over the center when the cap is on my truck. I store firewood under the plywood and my dogs ride on top of it.  |

Also, my big cooler fits in the back between the rear tires under the mcahine. |

Thanks for the picture liflod. That's what I figured you were talking about. I'll probably build mine today as I got a call from my dealer and my Frontier will arrive on Tuesday. I'll post a picture when I'm done.
What do you guys have for ramps?? I bought a pair of fordable, 7' long, 1400lbs capacity steel ramps yesterday. They look like they should do the job. |
