I have an attex superchief that I just recently took for a "swim". I have replaced four of the tires with knobby tires and still have two of the orignal "balloon" style tires. I know that the reason it will not move in the water is due to the knobby tires, I don't want to spend the money to change my tires, is there anything else I can do to improve my water performance. I once read here of installing metal "blades" inside the rims. Has anyone tried this and how does it work. I will not be spending much time in the water, but when I do, I need to at least control my direction of travel. Right now all I do is bob along with practically no control of direction.

Thanks
Bruce

Hi
I'm John I just got an ATTEX 275 on tuesday. When I got it home I went into the creek and went across fine. When I turned around and was coming back the water started to get deep inside the attex; It came up to the seat and I was moving more water out of the air inlets in the lid above the motor than I was near the tires which were completly under the water. It still has the baloon tires. Any suggestions what is wrong?

I am thinking of getting a trolling motor for my Avenger. I have the thought that I can use an electric motor, and run it off the 12V plug. Advice?

The 12 volt receptacle will not provide enough current for a trolling motor. You will need to connect it directly to the battery.

Gentlemen.....As mentioned by another writer, we had a great ride here in Eastern Ontario, last Saturday. I saw several things that I have never seen before. Like a New Frontier with rubber tracks and an 8 wheeler with steel tracks in the swamp and a 6 wheel Vanguard with tire chains in the same swamp. It was a great day. My friend on his four wheeler ended the day looking decidedly unhappy. Here is the picture. w. philip cox

A vanguard w/ runamuks and chains? I've wondered what that would be like. Probably climb anything. You had a diverse group of machines to watch, makes a ride interesting. What did you think about the two tracked argos. Did they swim well?

Roger=I have never seen a tracked machine that swam well. The jury is still out on the Frontier though because the guy just got it the day before and as we all know driver experience means everything. It wouldn,t go where he aimed it and people were offering advice and his lovely wife got pretty testy. It was funny but we didn,t want to get caught laughing.

The steel tracked machine did not swim well either. It threw mucho water into the rear of the machine. It also threw stones. But when it got onto the dead catails nobody could stay with it. It also seemed willing to climb trees!
