just got an argo 8x8 off of e-bay. First trip in swap got stuck. looking at tracks now. Has anyone tried putting c-channel on tracks for better grip? Was wondering about the turning putting these on.

Brian What 8x8 did you get and what tire is on it, be careful of adding tracks with extra weight to tracks, if the machine rides too deep in the water with tracks, it won't do anything but stir the water. There is a lot of good paddle tread tires available, you just need to stay within the height requirements

hello Mr. Bob. It's an argo 8x8 responce. The front tires are the rawhide 111, the back 3 are the runamucks. Still learning, reading all the forums. Was even thinking of putting some alumimun angle iron. Goes pretty good in the water, went visit neighbor down the bayou. thanks for the responce.

Brian- We used to ride at Haspin Acres in Indiana with a guy named Steve who recently sold a green Response with that same tire set-up. I am curious if you now have his old machine. That model is an excellent water traveller. Take the time to really get to know it and it will amaze you. I am of course being presumptous that you might not be knowlegeable on Amphibs, my apologies if you are. Where are you located?

Mr. John you are right not knowlegeable at all!!! I have been wanting to get one, was always scared that it wouldn't work in back of my home.(5000 ft deep with cypress swamp). I bought the machine about a week ago out of tennessee. I live in louisiana, about 65 miles southwest of new orleans. Getting ready to retire in July and looking for some adventure. :o)

That sounds like a wonderful place to ride! How do you find your way around and keep from getting lost?

I believe I would really like that part of the country. I have always enjoyed swamps and jungles. Maybe not the mosquito bites but I like the biodiversity.

What is the closest town or parish you live in? Is the area open to anyone with an amphibious atv?

There's an atv supply house in LA called La Ramp. If you start looking at paddle tires, they are good people. I got good, personalized service from them. Can't say if paddle tires are what you need, though.

Sure I am familiar with Hourma. I looked at some property there and one of my wife's coworkers is a travelling nurse from there.

That is nice country.

Mr. Jerry was looking at forums and found this.

will be opening this place for trail riding this summer. The only condition is you have to stay in our bed and breakfast.$75 for upstairs rooms,$90 for downstairs.Continental breakfast is included.Swimming pool, pool house and cabana,15 miles of trails.(Plenty of mud,no large hills, relative change in elavation from lowest point in the creek to highest point on the hill is probably 40 feet.)$20 dollar per vehicle per day to ride the trails. Most trails 15 feet wide, narrowest 6 feet.Quite a few good small muddy climbs out of creeks and old creek beds.Small pond for float freaks.Every fast food known to man within 4 miles.Interstate 3 miles away.Come see the Hydro Traxx beast. http://www.bbonline.com/la/countrylane/
