We have a house at the lake which has fairly nice lawn up to the waterfront. Will a 6X6 tear up the lawn in curves or is that not an issue?

It depends upon several factors. First how aggressive the driver is with the turning and spinning. If a person is doing donuts then the yard will get damaged. If a person is just crossing it and making small corrections, minimal damage should occur depending upon: How aggressive is the tread on the tires. The tires like the chevron and runamuck won't do as much damage as the deeperer digging type tire like the rawhide or strykers. Is the lawn dry or wet. If the lawn is slightly wet from a dew the vehicle will turn easier and slide. If it is saturated then it could cause ruts and tears in the lawn. If it is really dry there may be less damage if the same path is not repeatedly used. How long is the grass. I have found that longer grass is able to stand up better to being driven across. If the lawn can handle a mover that is skid steer like a grasshopper then it should be fine with a 6x6 unless it being used as a track or repeatedly worn into a path. |

It seems I have a rather benign combination then: Amphicat with baloon tires, the lawn usually dry and firm. The lawn is well kept centipede grass. Any predictions? |

I agree with Jerry. With your balloon tires, if you use care, you won't damage it at all. |
