I'm a first time user of the Route 6x6 Discussion Board so please bear with me. I've read many a posting prior to my recent purchase of a 2006 MAXIV-950T & I've found a gold mine of good helpful information & tips on Route 6x6. It just floors me to hear the MAX salesman's casual brush off of the Route 6x6. I received this new machine straight from the Buffalo, NY factory to my address in Fla. & I'm well pleased with the appearance and features of this machine. HOWEVER I'm more than disappointed with their lack of taking responsibility for delivering to me a severly damaged machine. It's a long story but basically the machine was obviously plowed through the very low back by an industrial Fork-lift! More than likely done at the last warehouse unloading stop that the semi-driver had prior to delivering to my place. I'm a private individual & not a MAX dealer. As there were no dealers within reasonable distance from my home it was delivered by the Recreatives Industries factory straight to me. That was the 27th Sept. & to date the factory salesman has done nothing to take care of their responsibility to either take it back & fix or send me a new good machine. I have never titled it in my name & have now turned it over to my atty to handle & was wondering if anyone out there has experienced a similar lack of responsilbilty & "I could Care Less" attitude by the MAX factory? I'm a disabled retired firefighter & was looking forward to going out this hunting season, starting in a few weeks, with my grandsons! But it won't happen in time as its still sitting in front of my garage with no positive reply from the MAX Factory to date. LJ} |

Larry, It is always dangerous to assume, but I will go ahead. It appears that your problem is with the freight company and not Recreatives Industries. I have had machines come in with rough treatment and I have filed claims with the trucking companies. Did you file a damaged goods report? Did you note the damage on the bill of lading when you accepted delivery? Do you have the truck driver's name and did he agree that the machine was damaged? I can understand you being upset, but it is unrealistic to expect the manufacturer to be liable for the trucking companies goof up. You need to call the trucking company first thing Monday morning and get your claim process underway. You also need to protect the machine until it is taken by the trucking company. In retrospect, you probably should have refused delivery of the machine. Don't be mad at the factory, get after the shipping company. They will take a while to settle and will probably want you to get it fixed before they pay you - they will at least need to know what the claim amount is so you will have to have someone give you an estimate for repairs. |

Larry, I agree with Fred. Why would the manufacturer be responsible to fix a machine that you received damaged? I'm sure they didn't ship it out that way. You must not have looked it over before you signed for it? If you did, I'm sure the trucking company or delivery company would have acknowledged the damage. Recreatives doesn't own delivery trucks. When UPS or Fed Ex delivers a damaged package, and you tell them upon receiving it, they take responsibility, not the manufacturer who built whatever it is you ordered. You need to contact whomever had contact with that last last and work back that way. If damage was noted as the machine changed hands and trucks along the way, there will be records of it, including pick-up from the factory. You need to find out when the damaged happened, not just sit back and point fingers. |

Larry,as aowner of a Max 4 bought in 99',I have gotten outstanding service and replys from the factory.When my machine was still new I had some problems, took the machine back to factory ,they not only fixed it but revised and updated some parts that were improved for my motor size and tires,no charge.When I needed some minor replace ment parts someone took care of me at the factory walked me to the parts bin and handed me the part at a good price.When my buddy and I were checking out machines in early 99'the factories reputation was part of the reason we bought a max. |

You know, if the "manufacturer" had the slightest interest in customer good will, they would have stepped up to the plate immediately regardless of whether it was the freight company or no. Their reaction or lack thereof tells you just heaps about their business model. This was pretty old thread I came across(I've been gone a long time)but I hope somebody did something for you by now. |
