Seems the 8 WHEEL machines are machina non grata at some insurance companies. Progressive, while it LIKES to think of itself as a "progressive", limits its insurance to the 6 WHEEL machines. (A computer error did cause them to issue some policies, but they are cancelling them as they come up on the aniversary date.) Farmers also stops at 6 WHEELS. I did finally find a source of insurance for the 8 WHEEL Argos, but there is are two catches... First, you must have served on active military duty as an E-5 or higher or be a family member of one to get it. Second, it is not available in some states. The company is USAA in San Antonio, Texas. Hope this helps some of you out.

The company that used to be CNA, now named Encompass, did not give me any grief over insuring my Conquest for full coverage. I asked my local representative for Encompass, and she said that insureds that have both their homeowners' insurance and auto insurance with Encompass have almost no restrictions on number of houses, boats, ATVs, and automobiles that can be carried under their policies [so long as you will pay the premiums, which are really rather reasonable].

Dave,
George here I have a 2000 ARGO CONQUEST and just paid my insurance premium this past thursday. I was not cancelled, and was sent renewal papers in mail. $113 for full coverage for one year. This is in Frankfort Indiana. You might try another Progressive agent. Contact me if you want the name of my agent. Good Luck George

I am a State Farm Agent and I just insured my 6x6. With State Farm they don't even ask how many wheels. It is all classified as ATV's. I know this for 100% fact. I got full coverage insurance on mine for $119 a year. That means that if it is wrecked or stolen or even if it sinks to the bottom of the lake it is covered. Let me know if you have any questions. jim.reed.qejk@statefarm.com
