I was wondering if there was anybody out there who knows what in the world happened to the Hydrotraxx web page??? I mean did it crash or did this company fall the wayside as so many of it's predecessors??? I really would have liked to find out more about these machines as not too many people seem to be talking about these, however I just hope that they are still alive and well as I think that the diversity of competition will make it more interesting for everyone involved, owners and manufacturers alike. Any info is appreciated.

Thank you for the information. I was just kinda wondering 'cause I had thier web page in my favorites and for some reason it kept coming up as page not found. Oh well I'm still searching to find out which one I like the best so far and it's hard to choose, they each have thier own unique qualities(good & bad)and I'm really at a stand still at this point until I can test a Hydrotraxx and find time to test the Argo I am really stuck. Maybe I can get my step-brother to part with his Amphicat since it's not running at the moment!!! :)

Howdy, I live in Alaska and use argo's in my work. I own a Hydro-Traxx. yes it is a little spendy.Argo's are $ 12500 out the door, and Hydro-Traxx's are $13500 out the door. Then when you start loading them up with wenches ,skid plates, roll cages Etc. , I found that they are about the same as argo's.NOW,having said all that...Hydro's are a foot wider and a little longer. Mine will float 1000 lbs. and carry 4500 lbs.I can carry an argo up a steeper hill than they can climb! I know it rubs all the argo owners a bit, but I run argo's for a living. You sure as hell can't convince ME any different.

( Bubba Hunt )

I have always enjoyed reading postings written about the Hydro-Traxx. The first time I ever went to their website ,and, started to read just how well they were built, and also, that they have an independent hydraulic wheel motor for driving each wheel,,I was most impressed!

I have never been a big fan of chains ,because of all the added adustment that is needed to keep them in proper working order. Using Hydraulic motors to drive each wheel independantly is a very good concept. But,,where the "tire meets the mud" is what most people reading this 6x6 forum board care about.

How long have you owned your Hydro-traxx and how reliable has it been over all? Do you use it for mainly business use,,or recreational use as well.

David, I hesitated about putting that add in because I know it is non-productive to mess with your buddies a bit,but I do enjoy reading stuff that everyone contributes. It was here where I found out about the hydro-track, so I owe you all a lot already. I like everything that gets me away from the crowds and all the atv's do that and everyone who owns one can be proud of it.We are a different crowd of pioneers who aren't afraid to get back in the woods and enjoy some real piece of mind.
As far as your question..I have owned it less than a year but have put it through some of the worst mud bogs I could find. I climbed some ugly ridges and came off some grades where my feet were on the winshield. So far I can't find anything wrong with it other than not be buy one with the small wheel motors unless speed is what you need . As for me I deal with snow, steep hills and bogs where SlOW is the answer. I still can go about 14 mph with the low end motors. That is as fast as this old Swamp Rat cares to go. I bought the Hydro because I don't like breaking down in bad places where I don't have the option to walk out. These wheel motors and hoses don't break very often.I use the hydro for ice fishing and beach running for clams, and hauling moose out of the swamps. You Guys should come up here sometimes and see this big wild country.I've been running these swamps since the spring of 69.
Let me know if you have any more questions and I'll be glad to help.

Hey Bubba, sounds like you live in paradise! Sure like to see your posts on the HT, especially since I now own one. It is my first AATV but I bought it because of posts like yours. I have been very happy with the choice. I would like to know if you have had any trouble with your unit. I have wondered if the hoses will hold up for a long time or it they need to be replaced and if so how often. I believe that would be one messy situation if you had one burst in the middle of nowhere. Any tips, cautions or suggestions based on your extensive experience would be appreciated by this novice. Ron
