After searching a year I still can't find an older six wheeler in Florida, they were so common and I guess when my attex burned up it was the last here? Luckily I did find a couple of max enthusiasts in another county but can it be that I was the only 6 x 6 er in Miami?? I know of two machines that broke down and were dumped, and others which have simply vanished. Every machine I see for sale is in the Midwest, are they all gone from Florida?? Still looking for an old Amphicat, Attex, Terra Tiger, Wedge or any other pre-1980 machine available in MY AREA!! Not willing to drive a thousand miles to get one. In fact I have been considering building from scratch and giving up the search! Just look at the nuts who overpay on Ebay, Like 1,500 for a non-running Tiger!! If there is interest I will draw up a complete set of plans then build a machine to se how well it works. Then I can find an FTP site to upload it to so anyone can download and build an atv themself! I am so desperate to get a decent 6 x 6 which I can use in the yard too that building from scratch seems feasable! That is, unless someone has a project they can't take anymore! No matter what, in the future I will design a new aatv which can be built inexpensively and will not fall apart, and not at top heavy as a MAX. Of course if anyone has a sucessful atv design you would like to share I am willing to check it out. Actually I would love to solve the suspension problem, or at least get new balloon tires!!

Have you looked in the owners registry?

They have listing in there of vehicles all over the place.

Charger

Seems to me it would be easer just to drive that 1000 mile
and go get a rebuildable good machine from Richard Clark
instead of all that older junk

Perhaps if I wanted a machine for riding off in the boondocks I would drive to get a "good" machine but that's not my goal. I am a collector and want to rescue a classic from the trash, as I did with my Dodge Chargers. Besides there is a lot more to atv's then max and Argo, and it seems that in Florida at least, 6 x 6 means 1990 and up MAX and nothing else. Personally I prefer a colorful sporty looking machine to something that looks like a plastic jeep. To me an ATV is a buggy which takes me anywhere I would want to go but also is attractive and useful around the house. More than 80 percent of the time my Attex ran it was around my yard, moving tools and supplies, pulling a lawnmower and hauling chain saws and the chipper. Far from junk a classic atv is at the least the perfect yard helper, capable of working hard without damaging grass or patios. Besides, once a month I still did the swamp adventure with my quad buddies. Guess what, my old junk never got stuck!! I wish the new atv's could say as much!
