Dear Dave, while I'm sorry about your ordeal w/ Power-Trac , I must say that your last statement about Pete's hustler is completely unfounded & untrue! Why are you bringing that issue up on this section? He did'nt accomadate ANYTHING ! You sure have grated on my nerves ! Kyle.

Sorry 'bout your grated nerves Kyle, I based my comment on his posts, which I can't locate tonight, as opposed to Power-Tracs "We don't know how you could think amphibious meant floats like a boat.." bullshit. and the fact they've never even offered to send a rep. to look at my problems!
I wasn't meaning to put anybody on a pedestal, not being involved i won't offer an opinion on that!

Don't be sorry to Kyle, Dave. If he doesn't like this post he should get off of it. I'm sure if it had happened to him-he would be grating alot harder then you! He didn't loose his ass or leagal fees on a powertrac, did he?
Hey Dave, grate away!!!!!!

Dave I was just browsing the boards and read your story. I went out checked out power trac's site. If this ...Thing.... isn't suppose to act like a boat why do the advertise the water speed? They say it will go 3mph in water.

Steve

Hi again folks. I've gotten the final word from VA Office of Consumer Affairs. Sad to say I'm on my own! Mike Coston, who I have great respect for, has sent me a letter. It basically says that more investigation is called for, basically testing the Indominitable Power-Trac ATV 6000 on the water to see if it actually floats! However he cannot proceed in this direction as the Commmonwealth of Virginia does not adequately fund this department to put the manpower and expenses into actually investigating such things.
Furthermore the Attorney General does not consider this suitable for his office and recommends I take private civil action. I have previously informed them of my limited income as a disabled person on disability. Oh well I can almost hear the violins playing " My Heart Bleeds for You" in the background as I reread this letter. Ms. Asbury-Reynolds has reduced herself to producing totally false documents supposedly sent to me prior to my first phonecall!!
I reiterate my warnings " Let the Buyer Beware!" and "Be damn sure you want a Power-Trac before you buy one, and also realize that their warranty is suitable for use in the outhouse only, it has no real signifigance"
They produced one alleged testimonial unsigned with no address. This glowing letter of praise is purported to be from the We Hunt Duck Club of Northeast Arkansas, does anyone out there know of this club? Mr. Coston has tried to contact them to authenticate this letter but could not locate them.
It is done on a word processor or computer in about a 16 font bold type, no letterhead and scrawled across the top is "ATTENTION ANDY" by hand.
A few points I will mention are as follows: We tested the Power Trac 6x6 in some very rough flooded timber, lots of stumps and logs under water with a soft bottom. The Power-Trac performed very well here, the 26" tires and lower waterline allows the Power-Trac to reach the bottom in much deeper water than other machines we have used which makes it perform much better in those conditions. ( I agree, The Power-Trac can reach bottom in much deeper water!)We also tested the Power Trac in flooded rice fields that have very soft bottoms!.....would highly recomend this machine to anyone who wants a machine that operates great in extreme conditions and has almost no maintenance.
Wow I've just had a flash! I've got the perfect machine for Brandon!! Let's make a deal! This wonderful poece of equipment needs almost no maintenance!! I wonder what all the maintenance instructions in the owners manual are for?
If any one knows the We Hunt Ducks Club of Northeast Arkansas let me know, maybe they want another one?

I checked power-trac's web page to see if they have a e-mail address. they don't. I was going to send them a supportive nasty-gram for your cause.
Too bad, a power slam of letters from readers of 6x6 might help you. hope you make out ok.

Rod

I sent them an email last sunday as of yet NO response. I wanted them to give me answers to the 3 main questions.
1)Does it float?
2)Why is it so under powered and?
3)Where are any satisfied customers?

I also (in an early request) asked for liteture and havent recieved any.

I wonder if their is any satisfied customers for their lawntractors? If so Power Trac should STICK TO THAT and get out of the 6x6 business. I live just across the border from Arkansas in Missouri I will try to locate this Duck Club

Thanks for the support guys. I plan to keep my website going strong and am now trying to make my machine both amphibious (by adding flotation of 1 kind or other) and all terrain by somehow boosting the power to the tires. Someone from this site offered to look over the hydraulic system for possible inneficiancy, I printed out the e-mail he sent me but can't find it now! Ain't that par for the course? I took pictures of the hydraulics and will be adding them to my website soon. There is now a link to my website in the personal links section, thanks a bundle Richard, traffic has really picked up!
