My name is Tory Gardner and I am also interested in joining a 6x6 club. I am from Lock Haven PA and am wondering if there might be anyone interested in Locking Horns with the 4wheeler crowed for only fun and bragging rights. The North Central Chapter of the CPATVA's is putting on their 1st Annual ATV Rodeo on Sept. 25,2004 in Philipsburg, PA. They are having the event at the FLAT FUN RACEWAY. The directions to the Raceway are " Exit 133 (Kylertown-Philipsburg) off of I-80. At the light, turn Left. One mile south on Route 53. Watch for the Speedway sign on the right. The tentative schedule of events are MUD BOG,SLED PULL, BLINDFOLD EVENT,OBSTACLE TRAIL, SELF-TIME RACE, EGG RACE, KEYHOLE RACE, FLAG RACE, BARREL PUSH, CLOVER LEAF,and POLE BENDING. Their will be both kid and adult events. I figure the 4stroke Max's and Argo's can make short work of the Mud Bog and Sled Pull while the Attex's and other 2stroke speed demons should dominate the faster events. So who is with me? Are you Ready for these challenges! This could be the start of somthing BIG! Lets go for it and revive some interest in these 6x6,and 8x8 Monster's of the Past. Well if you are already Gasing up your machine preparing it for battle their will be camping area's available along with concession stands, flea marketers,ATV Dealers, Door Prizes, 50-50 drawings, and Awards! The grounds Admission is 3 dollars with children under 10 free. Registration for each event is 2 dollars. All ARE WELCOME TO PARTICIPATE is written in bold on the event flyer. If your interested and want to coordinate an effort to attend this event let me know. My E-mail address is dragzilla2001@yahoo.com and I last attended the Copper Ridge 6x6 event if your woundering if you have ever met or seen me before. I had the CUSTOM BLACK and RED MAX 2 with spider trax's.

tony it sounds grate, i think you will have company at this event, i was wondering though - have you repaird your engine mounts yet? did you try the auto shock rubbers and threw bolt idea i mentioned? i know i dident show you the inside of my max where i have done this, but it worked ok for me,

Thats sounds like a good event and it's only about 3 hours from me. I'll know closer to the event if I can make it, but I'll mark it on the calender.

I talked to you the morning you were changing the tire direction on the Spider Tracs. How did it swim with the tires in the tractor direction? I have a set that I am going to use on my Max IV.

David, Lance

It's good to hear positive replies already. This event should be awsome if we can get the rest of the guys on this sight fired up enuff to go SO SPREAD THE WORD!! David I have not tried your idea for the motor mounts yet because Im still using that old tired 16 HP motor with the new mounts I bought at Copper Ridge. You better believe when I up grade to a more powerfule motor Im going to try it. I was also given an idea to add a torq cable betwen the frame and motor mount limiting the amount of travel when the motor is working hard. I have a couple motors in running condition which are real screamer's. The one is a 340 twin off a Polaris sled which is now on a go cart. The other one is a 440 which is still in a Bombardier sled. My cousin and I were messing around with it a couple of weeks ago trying to get it started because it had been sitting a while. By the time it fired it had plenty of gas in the carb due to priming and took off like a rocket. Luckly I was the one holding the pull rope and he was the one trying to hold on. All I remember is blue smoke and streaks. He nearly flew off and he did lose his hat! I have been holding off using these motors due to seeing how well that brown Max2 worked at Copper Ridge that competed in the barrel and pond races with a V-Twin 4stroke.Man that thing sounded like it had a V-8 when it was workin hard. I think it would have done better if it could have got the power to stick. I have been saving up for one ever since. Hey Lance those Spider Tracs deffently work better backward on my Max2 in the water and on land. You would not think so but they do.If you do a lot of pond crossing I would not recromend these tires. The stock tires work alot better in open water but on land you will be hard pressed to find a more capable tire than these Spiders. Back to the event info. The gates will open at 8 am and the events will start at 10 am.

tory your story on the starting of the 440 realy brought back some memorys, i did the exact same thing but im the damm fool who was holding onto the handelbar with one hand and pull rope with the other,
when it started the brakes were stuck, i just gave it gass and let the belt burn, then when i had both hands on the bar it broke free and took me for a ride! nearly killed me.
my rule of thumb says that as far as 2 strokes go the minimum size for best results is a 340cc,
plenty of power when you need it but not enoph to kill you too easaly,
a 440cc on the other hane typicly has enoph power to easaly kill you if you make a mistake,
but if your cairfull and expereanced a 440 dose the job very nicely, i had 440's in all my 6x6 vehicles,

I WILL BE BRINGING A 04 MAX 950-T. I LIVE UP HERE BY WILKES-BARRE PA. I WOULD LIKE TO GET MORE PEOPLE INTO THIS SPORT AROUND HERE BUT IT SEEMS THAT I AM THE ONLY ONE. WHEN PEOPLE SEE IT THEY ASK WHAT IS IT OR IS THAT MILITARY ISSUE. THEY JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY CAN DO. THIS IS MY 14TH 6X6 AND THIS ONE IS THE CATS MEOW. I HAD COOTS, TRACKSTERS, ALLSPORT TRACKERS, HOVERCRAFTS, 8X8'S AND OVER 50 QUADS AND NOTHING CAN COMPARE TO THE 950-T. IF THERE IS ANYONE THAT WOULD LIKE TO RIDE AROUND HERE LET ME KNOW. THANKS THE CHEEZYBEAVER

Hey CHEEZY

Glad to see you can make it. That Max should make them Grizzly's look like Cubs! Hey as far riding I'm definatly interested but PA just doesnt let us ride these class 2 atv's anywhere. If you Know of any good legal trails let me in on the info. We gotta get these trail rides organized. The more of use the better! My weekends are all booked up till the event but After that I'll make time to go 6 wheelin! I spoke to some of the club member's that are putting on the event and told them a number of us were coming with 6x6's and there was some excitment. They said the more of use the better! They also told me that there is plenty of camping area at the track if any body wants to go the night before and camping is free. For more info contact these club member's. "Dom Orwick 570-962-3153 or Sue Confer 570-962-2472. Both these names were contacts on the event flyer.
See You There
Tory

Hey CHEEZY

I forgot to tell you that our rank and file grew to two or three more Attex machines which will be Attending the event with us. The one Attex won the barrel race at Copper Ridge last July. Joe had a mountain motor 4 stroke in it and MAN! that thing is a Beast! I belive we are also up to four Max's now!

Hey Every One

Just to keep you all updated and keeping this discussion current. It seems so far we will have at least 8 Attex's and 4 Max's going to the Philipsburg ATV Rodeo. I hope to see twice that number to make this one of the best events of the year so spread the word!

Sounds like Attex is going to make a showing at the rodeo, are there any safety rules we need to be aware of? Can't wait to try and kick some quad butt!

How was the ride this weekend??

I thought about everyone while I was up on my roof tearing off shingles and replacing them. I would have had more fun riding. But I should be good for another 30 years!!!
