Go to the gallery and see John hydroplane his motorcycle over a 4' deep lake at 70 mph. John is 55 years old.

Pete, Awhile back some friends of mine went 4 wheelin (JEEP) there and said that it can be a very difficult area for trucks but would be great for 6 wheelin. I couldn't go cause my truck is too big to make the turns and I was warned well in advance.

I found Tower City an excellent place to ride. The other MC and quad riders were very friendly and very interested in what I was driving. They don't have any regular 6x6 members. I went with my daughter and rode the trails from 11:00 to 3:15 and maybe saw 6 quads and 4 cycles. this was on their main marked mountain loop trail. They said the loop was 4 miles. I think its more like 9. The main trails were wide enough for 6x6s and the most of the intersecting trails looked the same. They also figure that there is more than 200 miles of trails off the main loop. We did get on a trail which we chickened out on, It was a bit narrow and was about 4 feet from a sink hole and ran its rim. The hole was about 200' deep Its like looking into the grand canyon without a railing. They don't recommend blasting around the trails if you don't know them because of the sink holes. When you see one you get educated real quick.
The holes could be any where from 20' to 300' deep. A 6x6 wouldn't have a problem putting by. Found an interesting black sand dune to climb and play on. Could only do half doughnuts probably because of the Rawhide 3 treads. Most of the attractions are from the coal mines including the sink holes. There was little mud, some sand and a bit more rocks. The club said they have some marsh land but haven't cut trails through there because the quads and cycle guys aren't interested. They did say if I was interested I could create my own marsh/mud trail if I was a member. I will send in my membership next week. They also said that the membership will close by April.
Did try a little pond running and almost stuck it . The coal dust and silt make for interesting pond goo. Could not climb out of the pond forward but backed up it easily. Go figure! The chevron on my tires point back looking at the top. I guess what is good for water is poor for goo. Anyway I recommend trying the place out. The (1) day fee goes towards the dues if you join. The club was also reducing the fee to $100 as the dues are to be paid again in April.

Does anyone know exactly where the Tower City area is located. I see the town of Tower City, PA about an hour north of Harrisburg. Is that it?

Drove up there on Saturday to look. From Exit 33 off 81, I took 209 South and then turned toward Good Spring. At the Stop sign, I turned left as told, but at Kocher Coal, I couldn't find the entrance. Where is it? Stopped several riders and they all told me that they just park their trucks off the road and ride. They were not members, just riding the trails. Didn't find any riders who could help. Does anybody have good directions from Good Spring?
