Attex hood latch

Route 6x6 Discussion Board: Restoration of older ATV's: Attex hood latch

I have an Attex Superchief that is missing part of the hood latch. Can someone email me a photo of what the hood latch should look like. All I have is the spring loaded pin. I assume some kind of bar was attached to the hood and as you raise the hood, the bar would engage the pin/ thus holding the hood up. to release the hood you would withdraw the pin and lower the hood. Is that correct? If so I need to buy or build a replacement bar. A photo of a complete unit would be a great help.

Thanks 6x6 for the great site!!

Bruce did you ever get the hood latch for the attex? I just got a chief without a hood and I do not know what it is supposed to look like or what kind of latch it wuld have.

Any help is appreciated.

I never got around to making the latch. I still need to do that, as it is getting old holding the hood up with one hand while trying to fix things with the other. Does not look to be too hard to make though. I was sent a nice photo, I will try to find it and e-mail it to you.

Bruce
