I just bought a used Vanguard with100hrs. on it. I have two problems I need some advice on: I just sprung a leak in the left caliper. It appears that the caliper is two pieces and the leak is between the two pcs. How do I get the caliper off? It looks like to get at the allen screws, I need to take the disk off, is this correct? Is this what I should do? Is the caliper gone, or is there a seal I need to change? What do the cotter pins do? They don't look like they do much. The other problem is that one wheel bearing leaks water prettly bad. Do I just replace the seal or do I do the bearings and seal, both inner and outer? I have the parts manual, is ther a maintenance type manual for ARGO's that show beginners how to fix things? Any help you guys can give is appreciated.

The disc has a hole in it, you can access the caliper bolts through it. The cotter pins hold the pads in place in the caliper. I'd assume there's an o ring between the caliper halves.

ben,
Their is a whole in the brake disk were you can get the allen wrench in to take off the caliper. the caliper probably just has a bad seal. the cotter pins hold in the brake pads, they do alot, so dont remove them. as far as the leak, you probably need to replace the bearings on that axle and the two rubber seals in the outer bearing housing. odg sells a video on service but its salty in price like everything else.
