TRACK KNOCKING BANGING NOISE
ARGO CONQUEST
my super tracks with ice cleats when running in high gear make a lot of noise. in low gear they are pretty quite. seems like they are slapping the body but speed does not seem to be the reason and neither does surface conditions (soft, hard, dry, wet, or frozen). it seems to be related just to the gear chosen. transmision is fine.
what causes this?
thanks
steve

Steven I have a 2000 Conquest with the super tracks. I've had the same problem with the tracks slapping the body. A temporary fix I had was to make sure I had the proper tire pressure. 3psi. When I filled them I wasn't thinking about it being colder the next day and the tires were under inflated. Once it was at the right pressure the noise stopped. Then it started again. No fault of my Conquest or mine. The tracks were brand new and wore in. At that point I needed to take out the half track and it was fine again. Hope that helps.
