ARGO OWNER QUESTION. WHILE RUNNING ON THE ICE WITH MY ARGO CONQUEST 8X8 WITH SUPER TRACKS YESTERDAY I NOTICED THE TOP SKID PLATE FROM MY PORT SIDE FOREWARD CHAIN TENSIONER WAS BETWEEN MY FEET. IT SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN THROWN THERE THROUGH THE SMALL GAP IN THE FLOOR BOARDS UNDER THE GAS TANK IN MY ARGO CONQUEST. THIS HAPPENED THAT DAY AND NOT BEFORE SINCE I HAD JUST CLEANED THE FLOOR. DURING THE EASY RE-INSTALL (IT JUST PRESSURE CLIPS ONTO THE SHAFT OF THE SPRING TENSION ARM) I NOTICED THE STARBOARD SIDE FOREWARD TOP TENSIONER SKID PAD HAD FLIPPED OVER. NOW I KNOW HOW IT GOT KICKED OUT, BUT HOW DID IT FLIP OVER? MY CHAINS DONT SEEM TOO LOOSE, I ONLY HAVE 32 HOURS ON THE ARGO.
ANY THOUGHTS?
STEVE

Steve, the flipping over thing has happen to me too. I couldn't figure it out for the longest time. Then I noticed when I reinserted the floor panel, it flipped. Guess I hit it when reinstalling the floor.

thanks for your advise on the flip over mystery. i can see how that might happen, since sliding in either the front or the back floor is done first under the gas tank where the tensioners are that flipped. also both of mine were flipped and i know that they were not when i cleaned the frame area out after duck season. so it must have happened while installing the floor boards. these two tensioners are visible with a peak under the tank after the boards are installed so that will be part of my routine from now on. i did notice a metal based high pitched sound while i was riding before i replaced the pad, the sound then was not present on the return trip.
