like to find out what would be the best all around tire inthe 26x12 sixe to put on a max 4 after wasting money on a new set of rawhideIII i'm saying what the heck and going to the bigger tires my maxIV came with the 22x8 tires time for them to go so just like to hear from fokes on the best tire that works in the water and mud both thanks for the help

People have posted in the past,on this very same subject, that you are now asking. What is the very best tire to buy, for an amphib?

The answer to this question? This really depends on the kind of riding you intend to do, with your amphib.

If you concerned about water speed,or, having to transverse very watery and muddy terrain,,people have posted in the past,,that there is not an Amphib any faster in the water,,than a Max IV with the factory 26 inch Dico tires,, that come from Recreatives.

These tires are a very good trade off,,between water speed and mudding ability.

But,if you really want more mudding ability,,and, a little less water speed,,then the "Gator tire" is an exellent choice. The factory guys even use the Gator tires on their own Max IV,s

OK here is another question about tires OK so bear with me on this as of now my maxIV is a 1975 really a (RIM) with 22" will 26' fit ??? like to make sure before i do another dam a- - thing that I'm know for it seems that the newer Max mite have a taller tub do to the inside of the upper body is shorter were it gets rived to the tub at on the newer ones

You can run the old tyle 26" tires which are a Dico Tru-power AT (they actually measure around 24" to 25"). This is the tire RI ran prior to the new MAX IV body change. The current tire is a goodyear. it actually measures a true 26". The main area you will run into trouble is just above the middle tire. If you meed to squeek a little extra space you cam heat the body up with a propane torch and push the plastic arount a bit to give you some extra clearance. Do not heat the body too much if the plastic starts to look "shiny" it's getting too hot too fast.

I was also told the new tires where a true 26", but this is not the case. I have a brand new Max IV here with Goodyear tires. They measure exactly 25". It has up to 1.5" of clearance above the tires. The only problem you might have is the possibility that the body has sagged over time. It is 14" from the center of the axle to the top of the wheel well. The tire will only reach 12.5" above center.

well thanks for the info and for the body been there done thatit now has a inside frame that runs to the outside lip of the body and if you dont look for it you dont see it mine was sagging so bad that it was rubbing on the 22" i think max needs to look in to this very hard not like they dont know about it
