Anyone ever put a watercooled engine in a 6x6? I am considering a watercooled 440 Kawasaki into a late 70`s Max11.Mainly I need opinions on radiator placement.....and if I can keep it cool enough with a electric cooling fan in front of radiator? Or should i just look for another engine?

hey daron:
liquid cooled engine on aatv sucks!!!!!!...the engine itself is a good piece of equipment...it's just the aplication ( to many vibration, dust, time ( some aatv still bouncing after 30 years!!!) not to mention that a cooland leak during a noman's land ( where aatv soul belong!!) is a bad joke!!!....if you can have an air cooling engine choice.......go for it!!!!!!!
bottom line is that air cooled engine bounces on less break down chances!!!

IT IS POSSIBLE. ROUTE 6X6 HAD POSTS (IN ITS EARLIER YEARS) OF A COUPLE LIQUID COOLED AMPHICATS. ISAAC, YOU HAVE A POINT. MOTO-CROSS BIKES HAVE LIQUID COOLED 2 STROKES BUT, THEY HAVE SHOCK ABSORBERS!

I think that argo has had a liquid cooled conquest since 1993 , but that is a ARGO

hey john: sure, like i post before lliquid cooled engines are mechanical sound but for aatv sucks!!on dirtbikes they goes on air/water free flow exange..other utilize electric fan ( with large ammount of electricity)...meanwhile air cooled engines utilize direct coupled fans ( integrated on flywheeel or direct operated by belt)...and on the long run ( aatv still bouncing after 30 years!!!)....mechanical symplicity ( less and reliable components) must be the goal for aatv......

And don't forget weight - the lighter the better! PSI on the ground - that is what it is all about.
