Am I screwed? does the engine have to come out to fix this? The solid disc on the engine side broke into 3 pieces, and I cannot see how to get this part off of the output shaft from the engine. This is getting to be a very indepth pain in the backside.

Dave,
I would think that the clutch is either a slip fit or a taper fit. Either way, it should come off the crankshaft fairly easily. Of course, you may not have enough room to slide it off the end of the crank without removing the engine, or at least loosening it way up. I've never done one in a machine, so maybe someone else will know if there's enough room to do it. You might also have to use a heat wrench (torch) to help it along. It usually takes very little heat to break parts loose, so take your time and use sparingly. Hopefully you won't need a puller to help things along......if you do...and there isn't room to do it in the machine......well you know the rest.....
Good luck up there.
Bill Davis

Thanks to everyone who has responded to my frantic posts. I got the old one off, and was able to replace it rather easily, once I aquired the proper technical data I needed. The Conquest is back on the trails, and I am not flailing my hands like a girl anymore. Thanks again.
