THIS WILL BE MY LAST POST ON MY CUSTOM EXHAUST ON MY 18HP B/F VANGUARD. IF YOU HAVE A GOOD WORKING STOCK MUFFLER ON YOUR VG MOTOR AND AM NOT A JUNKIE FOR POWER, THEN GOD BLESS YOU. HOWEVER: IF YOU HAVE TO CHANGE YOUR EXHAUST DO TO CRACKS OR NEED FOR POWER, THEN LISTEN UP! READ MY POSTS ON ENGINE MODS ABOUT WHAT I DID TO MY B/F. THE SUPERTRAPP 3" SILENCER HEADER SYSTEM I MADE FOR PEANUTS, IS THE WAY TO GO. THE INCREASE IN POWER IS SUBSTANTIAL! I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT WITH THIS INCREASE I AM PROBABLY RUNNING TOO LEAN AND AM LOOKING FOR TROUBLE. I PULLED THE PLUGS AND HAD THE GUY AT THE SPEED SHOP LOOK AT THEM. HE TOLD ME I AM RUNNING PERFECT AS FAR AS THE PLUGS READ. I AM USING 10 DISCS ON THE SILENCER. I CHANGED THE # OF DISCS TO 5 FOR ARGUMENT SAKE. THE MOTOR IS QUIET AS A CHURCH MOUSE, BUT THE LOSS OF POWER IS VERY NOTICEABLE. THE PEOPLE WHO INVENTED THE EXHAUST SCAVENGE TUNEABLE SILENCER ARE BRILLIANT. IT TAKES LESS THAN 5MIN'S TO SWITCH FROM POWER AND MORE NOISE TO LESS POWER AND LESS NOISE. WHEN YOU CHANGE THE NUMBER OF DISCS, IT'S AS IF YOU ARE SWAPPING MOTORS. MODIFIING YOUR EXHAUST IS LIKE ADDING 30-40% MORE HP IN MY EXPERIENCE.
