I'm a new owner of a 97 Max IV and would like to put a snow plow on it, but would like to build it myself. Where can I find a diagram of the plow and hardware?? Diagram of the winch plates??? Anyone have any ideas on a transom to attach a 3-4 Hp outboard?? Thanks Buffalo Bill

I have alot of questions about 6 and 8 wheeled atv's. I currently use a honda foreman 4x4 for trailering firewood, snowplowing, and trail riding. Under snowy conditions, i am very limited with slopes and grades with my 4x4 when pulling wood. How well do 6-8 wheeled skid steers perform in snow? What are some of the drawbacks of these vehicles? What are the preferences regarding hydrostatic transmissions vs. chain drive? Thanks for any input, I'll ask more questions later!

I understand how limited you are with the Foreman as I just rode one last week in the snow. 6" deep and although it went forward good, even turning was difficult. It just wants to push the front end and you have to find a 20 acre field to turn around in. My Max on the other hand, was right at home in the snow. It turns really easy because the ground is slick and allows it to skid around easily. I had a great time hill climbing. There was no hill too steep or slick to stop it. Neither ATV was pulling a trailer and I have not tried it in the snow. A trailer will slow you down and won't be as easy, but I am sure it is still going to get there.
I would take chain drive over hydrostatic any day. The T-20 is the most efficient way to get the power to the ground.
