hey can some one help me i just bought a 91 max 2 and im new to six wheelers,,,,,,,the shaft betwwen the front axles was broke when i bought it so i ordered a new one but when installed it only goes back into the axles about a16th of an inch,,,,,,,to me this dont seem long enough but thats as far as i can get it to go for the key pin hole to line up,,,,,,,,and one more thing are they a inner and outer bearing on the max 2 because i installed two because it looked like it took two,,,,,,sorry about al the dumb ? but im new to six wheelers,,,,,,,,,thanks

Bobby, I'm not sure I completely understand what you are asking, but it sounds like your axles need to be moved in. You are right that 1/16 of an inch contact is not enough. Check your rear axle and middle axle (it is important to keep the chains and sprockets lined up), it is possible that they are all wrong. On the 91, there is a brass bushing in the inner part of the axle that goes over the stub shaft that you replaced Make sure there is plenty of grease on the stub and in the bushing. There would only be inner bearings if someone added them - 1991s did not come from the factory with inner bearings.
