I just purchased a MAX II and would like to pull a trailer with it but can't find a hitch ball that will fit the bracket that comes with it. Even a 1-7/8" ball has a 3/4" stud which is too big to go through the hole in the bracket. Any advise on how/where to pick up a hitch ball that will fit?

Bob, I had the same problem and after looking for one at ATV shops, I bought a 3/4 inch bit for my 3/8 inch drill and drilled out the hole to a larger diameter. Pretty soft metal and didn't take much to do. But before I inserted the ball, I bought an adapter plate from Cabella's that allowed me to mount the ball, but still have 2 solid steel loops on either side to use as tie downs when trailering or for safety chains when towing. I used to use the hole in the bracket for ratchet straps when trailering, but mounting the ball eliminated that possibility. The adapter plate was about $12.00.

Bob, you just need to get a drill and drill out the hole.

Northern Equipment sells a 1 7/8 inch ball that has a 1/2 inch shaft, I am sure other places could order one.

You can get the proper 5/8 shank ball at any lawn and garden shop. I got mine a Quality Farm and Fleet.
