Because of my crippled hands, I would like to put a twist throttle on my Max II. I currently have the heated cable, and I want to keep that installed. I just want to add a twist throttle to it. I tried a twist throttle off a minibike and off an ATV, but the barrel end on my heated cable doesn't fit the twist throttle.

Any ideas?

you may be able to reshape the end with a dremal fit with the little grinding wheel, i use the little grinding wheel from time to time when i make cables, promoza put one on his max, maybe he can tell you if he crimped on a new end or grinded old one into new shape, when i need a new end sometimes i put 1/2 a solderless connection on the cable, they seam to hold ok.

You guys need to just remove that crappy heated throttle cable. It has alot of binding. We changed out the cable on mine, cleaned up all the rough spots in the governor (there was only one sticky spot at about 1/3 throttle) and get a descent throttle lever on there. I used a bmx aluminum lever. Its so easy and smooth now its really unbelievable. My cable is teflon coated with a teflon coated tube. One guy here said to get a cable from a tandem bike. That would work good too. This is much easier than a twist grip. Trust me I tried that route.

Bc you have a good idea but thats not what he was asking we both have a problum with the grip of are hands thats is why we went to twist throttles it's a lot easer on are hands i'm abel to control mine a lot better now and my hand dont get as sore + Joh wants to put a rocker handel on it also witch will help with his throttle control movement

No actually I do understand. I have a grip problem as well. Thats where really getting this smooth to where its very easy to squeeze will help you out. The old lever system I couldnt even get any throttle. The new one is good but my hand does get tired after an hour or so. I wanted to put a twist grip on mine but its not easy to do (relatively speaking) so I went the other route and its much better. I also took the springs off to make it easier too.

Thanks for the replies guys. Mark is right about the hands. I will be adding a "throttle rocker" to my twist throttle once it comes in. Hopefully it should help.
