OK, I did what everybody told me and the motor runs great: but only at half throttle plus. It won't idle. I have to start it with a shot of ether and can tear around like nobody's business. It just won't idle. I did nothing to the carb. to change this, it use to run good at all speeds. I'm wondering if there is not enough vacuum from the crankcase to fuel it. Could a small fuel pump fix this?

Check to see if the throttle shaft bushing is worn oval shaped. I had a techumseh oh 16 that did not idle because of that problem.

Jerry is sounds like that it may have a clogged Idle circuit. The holes in the idle circuit are ver, very small.

One trick you may do is take some carb cleaner and spray it into the idle circuit or into the air bleed. If you have the carb apart you can verify if the cricuit is open by doing this. Air bleeds get clogged very easy with crap. Check that out very closly.

I don't think the problem will be fuel pump related.

At least you can ride the thing!!!!!!!

Hey guys, my idle mix screw does not respond when you turn it in or out. HOw can I blow out the crap with carb spray? The carb is a VM series Mikuni.
