Just disassembled my T20 and am getting a parts list together. I have a few questions
1. Two of the drums had a good amount of rust on them and after cleaning with a wire brush, some blemishes were left from the rust pitting. Looks sort of like orange peel. Should they be replaced?
2. The band plunger cylinders in the case are a little rough. Can I hone them or use emory cloth? I am replacing the O-rings.
3. Only one of the bands has metal showing through the lining. What else should I look for with the bands?

Thanks in advance for any help,

Steve

1. I wouldn't worry about the pitting unless it is extensive. Just make them clean and shinny. They are over $200 new.
2. I always hone the plunger cylinders when replacing o-rings. I use fine sand paper and smooth it over real good. Clean it up to get all the dust out.
3. New bands might be a good idea if you want to put that kind of money into it. I've seen some old T-20s with areas of clutch material worn off. New bands would be ideal but then again, I've seen those worn out bands work fine and not even mark up the drums.

Everyone just call Richard instead of posting your questions. What fun!
