Ramp-ups for hauling piggy back in Pickup

Route 6x6 Discussion Board: Trailers and Trailering needs: Ramp-ups for hauling piggy back in Pickup

Has anyone thought of putting a ramp and support frame in back of pickup for hauling a six wheeler. I just bought an old Terra Tiger, got it running last night and am toying with this idea. Would enable me to use the space under the frame for hauling decoys and such. Some thoughts, maybe.

I hauled my Superchief 450 miles on a support frame made from 2x4's. My Chevrolet truck has flat spots inside the bed to make a platform. You should be able to support your Terra-Tiger with 2x4s. I used 3 2x4's across the bed and a pair of them on each side to support the machine. I also added legs under the wood to add some more strength. It took me less than 30 minutes to build it and it worked great. I backed the truck to a hillside to load it.

Jerry, ARGOs are made to fit into the bed of a full size bed of a pick-up with ramps over the wheel wells, you just may have to adjust the width or yours to fit the machine. I have seen a couple ARGOs being loaded onto the bed of a pick up and im glad it wasn't me driving the ARGO, damb near smashed that back window that trucks have. (Im pretty sure the MAX aatvs can fit in the bed of the trucks too, they look small enough but im not sure.)
