Does an Argo Bigfoot turn as eaily as a MaxII from a standing still position( i.e. can it just spin around in it's own space)? Are the brake parts,pads etc available from auto parts stores or do you need to go to Argo for them?

Any argo turns like a fat woman on a camping cot. My bigfoot boggs when turning from a dead stop in high gear. It will however turn pretty good once you put it in low gear. It is a hassle to shift to low gear. I have never been in a MAX but I hear they turn quite well from a dead stop.

"Any argo"??? Sorry, 98bigfoot, I don't agree. My Vanguard2 was hard to turn from a standing start until I got the carbeurator fixed. However, my Response will turn quite nicely from a stand-still. It can be a bit of a thrill if you aren't expecting it. Just lock up one brake, goose the throttle, and hang on!

It is like any other skid steer machine. The ease of turning is based upon the type of material (surface) you are trying to turn on. Mud,ice, dirt,sand,gravel,grass are a piece of cake. My ARGO BF will turn on a dime. Now on concrete or asphalt it is difficult.

Craig, The ease of turning (from a standing start) also is very dependant on PSI on the ground. That and the efficiency of the drive system in getting power to the wheels, IMO, are why the Max (any model) turns easier than the Argo (any model).

Maybe I should say any argo with Goodyear tires turns like the fat woman, maybe not the ones with the wimpy Runamucks.

The AROGO will turn easily on any surface that I desire to ride on and I do not ride my ARGO on the street, nor do I want to. IT has plenty of power. I used to drive M60A1 tanks and M113 personnel carriers for the ARMY (before I became a helicopter pilot), they weigh 60 and 11 tons respectively and they turn on a dime too, and they are the ultimate skid steer vehicles, (except maybe the M1A1 Abrhams main battle tank). So PSI is only a limiting factor if you do not have enough power ! The ARGO does.
