during a regular voyage with max on 6 feet high "elephant leg" grass ( imported from "nam" to stabilize soils)...inmersed on 4 feet deep of water due to land flodding i found that max was "captured" by vegetation as soon as it loose impulse when start to float...the reason was simple: the vegetation make a high eficiency 6 anchor device ( some vegetation makes several turns over axle area between inner part of tire and max body...lucky me that i DON'T FOLLOW max rules (related to no tools on voyage)!!! on max luggage was a "machete" so i and tify ( the lovely cocker spanier) start to swim...with the machete i cut the anchor device several times on my way back.....lucky tify that doesn't found any aligator on her way....(for the aligator will be like having a "thanks giving" meal!!!.........anyhoo now i have plans to install(welded) a vegetation cutting device on each axle..( 1/4" tickness plate by 3" high with very sharp edge)...bottom line is that aatv speed on water with vegetation is 0

Hey Isaac, before you put knives on your axles, why don't you try a short piece of 2" or 2.5 " schedule 40 PVC pipe over your axle. saw it down the side and snap it over the axle. Have it long enough to fill the area, but make sure it spins freely on the axle. Your problem should be solved.
