Hi - I'm thinking about towing my AATV across some baaaaad water with my 70HP duck boat. Let's leave what baaaaad water we are talking about out of the discussion for now.

Does anybody have any experience with this type of activity. If so, where did you tie and how long of a tow rope? I'm thinking about tying to both front axles.

Hey bonner the rope idea sounds like a baaaaaaaaaaad idea if you ask me because you have no control.I have a four person Seadoo LRV and towed it with a rope and it was all over the place. If I was going to tow a aatv I would make one of the rigid tow units like they sell at Overtons.I also think we need more info like what kind of aatv is the water going to be rough is there a strong current and the most important question how fast do you expect to go I hope not very fast because I don't think any of the aatv's would plain out very well.Just my two cents.

Later,Dan

brettbonner, lets hear the bad water part- I personally wouldn't tie to the front axles unless you are trying to keep the front up higher and are going super slow in the towing boat and the rope was very short. I would still be worried about the water going over the front of the AATV while moving through the water behind another boat.
