When going down a steep hill with the Argo and you try to apply the brakes they seem to grab and jerk a lot one side is not any worse than the other. The machine only has 80hrs on it. Also it does not matter if it is high or low range. Is this common or do I have a braking problem?

Thanks,Dan

Dan,
you only need soft easy steady pressure on the brakes. you will get better with time, my dad still does that with his conquest, he has about 80 hrs of driving time. sometimes you do not want to let completely off the throttle either, while breaking down a hill, just enough though to keep the clutch engaged on the belt, and the motor will help keep the jerking down.

Dan, try using low gear with the throttle at about 2 10ths. Or just enough as argoguru said to keep the clutch engaged. That will slow you down considerably and you may not even need the brakes. If the brake thing keeps up, just chech the pads and make sure that they aren't worn. WIth 80 hours, and an newer machine, they may not have broken in yet or they wore to fast because they are new or something. THE fluid in the system may have air in it also, but unlikely. Chech the fluid levels and just make sure everything looks normal. YOu will get the hang of it soon and it can be finiky at times.
