Howdy Jake!
Attex rocks! Which model do you own? What shape is it in? Color? How much monkeyin' do you have to do before it's trail-ready? Are there any other mods done to it? Are you the original owner, deciding to resurrect it after decades of disrepair, or did you recently score it at an auction or through a trader ad? Send us some photos of your work in progress and keep us up to date on how goes it! Always good to see one of the old guard brought back into service! RIDE ON!

Hi, I'm Chuck Eichler from norhtern Il. I've had a
Max back in the seventies. I loved it. I let a
friend use it in Wi. He rolled it down a hill then
returned it in piecies. He said I didn't tell him
it would do that and wasn't going to repair or pay
for any of the repairs. Then I never saw him
again. 4 years ago I shattered a vertibary now I'm
disabled to I can't work but can walk. I saw that
the Erds set up a dealer w. of Elgin and went over
to test my first 8 wheeler. It was a very
comfortable ride for my back and fell in love with
it right away. Now I'm saving up for one. And
still awaiting for the insurance settlement. I'll
have one soon I hope so I can be outside and enjoy
nature without worrying about falling and fishing
without a lot of walking. I

Thanks for the great site. I just took delivery of my MAX IV. Living in a small town in Northern Arizona your site was invaluable. I have used your site for everything from finding what best fit my needs to the actual purchase. Everything was handled over the internet from buying research to purchase. Keep up the good job.

Hi my name is Al. I live in Jackson Michigan. I have been reading the messages on this site for a few weeks while waiting for my new max 11 800 T to come in. This is a great site with a lot of good info. I picked up my max yesterday and its awesome. I am looking forward to spring so I can try it out in the mud. Thanks for the great site.

A great site....I have just purchased property way out in the wild wo access, hence am looking for transport, esp over deep snow in winter. My wife wants enclosed, rather than snowmobile, so I'm looking into these machines. Does anyone know anything about machines around Lake Tahoe at the Calif/Nevada border? I would consider something used..... kritchie@jps.net

Ken, You will need a tracked machine for deep snow and please be aware of the PSI on the ground of your total load. Tracks put a lot of pressure on the drive system so please make sure what you buy will do the job you seek. If a tracked machine is for sale, check into why! I encourage anyone looking for a tracked machine to buy one that has been set up by the factory (any reputable factory) to run tracks. and Yes, you can tell from my "signature line" that I believe there is only one machine to consider.

Ken,

Yes wonderful site I get lost in it sometimes and hours go by and I forget I have an attex im supposed to be working on :) I would think any of the max or scrambler line would be good for tracks or a cushman. I would stay with the four stroke engines because your going to need alot of torque to turn the tracks and such.

Hello Everyone- My name is Paul and I have recently acquired an 1971 Attex440 Thunderchief. It appears to be in fairly good shape for the age, and runs out pretty well. I have a few kinks to work out and hope to have it 100% by Spring. This site has proven to be an incredible source of knowledge and experiences. My hats off to Richard and all those willing to share their time and efforts to make this a great place to get information that WORKS ! I live in SE WI and would love to hear from anyone as to good place to ride. Be SAFE everyone and THANKS!!

PS- I also have a 71 Ridgerunner ASV- It came with a lot of the original manuals and brochures. If anyone is interested, I would be happy to send a copy of needed info.
