I have to agree with you lilchief. I have talked to Richard on the phone and he was very, very helpful!!! The people on here are a great bunch!! And seeing the split on the Argo/Max list....no wonder people are split 50/50 on what is a better machine. I Would like to see a writeup by people that own two different types of machines; what they like best and what they can do best. I own an Attex and an 8X8 Argo and in the future I hope to do a writeup on just this subject when time permits. The way things are going.....oooo I would say in the year 2020!!!! Keep all six wheels on the ground!!!!!

Love the site. I had a 6x6 when I was A kid (15 yrs ago) but it needed a belt. Dad never got one for it and he traded it off. so I never got to drive one until the other day . I got a 95 Max II 16 hp and I love it. It is more fun than I imagined all those days I sat in the one I never got to drive. I already after a week, when I need to make a U Turn in my truck think, if only I could lock the right side lol.
keep on AATVING
Donnie

Nice web site! Lots of information and photos.
One of these would get my brouther-in-law out in the field hunting(handicapped)and maybe fishing more. Problem is I live in the northwest. Anybody close by..

Awesome site! Wonderful information! I am considering a 6x6 to replace the Jeep I use in the woods. I am tired of drowning out in deep water and then spending the rest of the day trying to pull dead weight out of the mud. I fell in love with the Attex in the early 70's and was thrilled to find that new AATV's were still being made. I consider my Jeep nearly unstopable, but an AATV should be really unstopable. Unfortunately, a used Jeep and a new AATV are about the same price, and I can commute in the Jeep. It is hard to justify the cost with two kids in school.

I have had a BIG Bronco....too wide to get into some of the areas I want to visit...a Bronco II...great vehicle but needs oversided tires and a road...and an ML 320...an truely great car if you have oversize tires and do not care about resale value....I just bought an Argo Conquest...even without a test ride....it has GOT to be far better than the vehicles I previously used...think about it...an Argo can do NO ROADS, vs even the famous Rubicon, which is nothing but a poor road...

This is more than a (site) it's more like the (6X6 DOCTOR'S OFFICE!) R.I. makes a great product but they lack the P.R. bigtime! Here, your questions are answered by actual owners who have solid advise. Back that up with the experience of the Dealer who started it all, and the sport lives on! Thanks Richard.

I come in here about once a month, on and off. It is a GREAT site. I have tried talking "off road issues" on 4x4 sites and on Jeep sites and etc but they all think our machines are a joke. Of course they do not think it BAD that they have to have the BLM shut off some water flow over dams so they thru.
They do not think it BAD that they drip transmission fluid, brake oil and crankcase oil all over the Rubicon and other trails. We need to keep pushing for independent recognition of our machines and stop getting stuck in the same group as the ATVs and Jeeps type vehicles...

THIS WEB SITE IS THE BEST FOR COMPARING NOTES!!.. KEEP IT UP FOREVER!!..

DAVE..

Since I found this site while searching for ARGO pics one day, I have been on almost everyday and read almost every post in the boards. Before I discovered this site, my knowledge of the way these machines worked was extremely limited. I have an ARGO MAGNUM as most of you know by now, but I didn't know what a lot of stuff did and how it really worked other than when you pull the brake lever, you turn. I just basically knew how to drive it under most conditions. Thanks to this site and its members, I can diagnose problems much easier, I know better what to do and what not to do in certain conditions, I have been able to tackle more obstacles, and I don't drive the machine as hard now that I know what can happen. The only thing I don't like about these machines are the goodyear runnamucks. I think that the tread should be much deeper as turning on any hard surface seems to wear the hell out of the tread. If they were made a little thicker and deeper, I think the machines would be much better.

Thanks to Richard and other members.

I found this site looking for parts for my Terra Jet. I have owned many old beaters of atv's . Then after reading all the comments on how much better built the new machines are , I just had to look and see for myself. Now I have had my Argo
bigfoot for 1 year and 100hrs of use. Right now I'm in the middle of the pull all chains out and clean them service. What a messy job,but looks to be worth all the work concidering the amount of dust that makes it 's way down to the chain area.I read all the posts. I answer only a few I'm not into all the petty little debates that go on from time to time

Yes thanks to Richard for providing this site for free
without all the crap that is on other sites. Even though people
do get excited and post stuff that is crazy the route6x6 people do
a good job controling it. I subscribed to one of the yahoo boat message boards
and did I ever get spamed with hundreds of useless emails, never happens
on the route. long live the route.

thanks
Bob Hall

Almost put me in tears reading the obituary again of my grand dad John Gower Rempel, inventor of the Jiger and coiner of the phrase All Terrain Vehicle (ATV). Also the article from the star talking about his living in old trailors and his mustang, I used to visit him there with my brother and dad and crawl around in and out of the old Jiger shells when I was young. Fond memories. I'm really happy to see that you guys are keeping his dream alive, I've got a lot more reading to do here, but just wanted to say thanks for the flash back.

Hi, im mike gerber.

I have looked back to this site many times for photos, and links. Beleve it or not, my grandfather, (Howard Gerber) Designed Attex's 6x6's!, and my father (bill gerber) raced for years. We are restoring his old racer, and We recently bought a 500 Superchief. So this site is a bunch of help, so is richard's relics parts site!

Well this topic looked like it was in need of an updated message posting!

Hello every one, my name is Big Wolf and I live in Motown. No I am not an alcoholic or substance abuser! I was a Max dealer for a very short period of time, probably the shortest time duration in the history of Amphibious ATV's!

In any event, I am officially rejoining the ranks as a user only of amphibious ATV's.

Man what a pleasant relief to get that thing off my back! I officially shut down being a dealer for R.I. as of today, and asked Richard and R.I. to pull our web site link off of the their dealer links pages. I have also stripped down our web site to remove all Max product related content and only left the the stuff that I wanted to leave in. I will probably take down the entire sit by the end of the year, when our web hosting service is ready for renewal.

I take my hat off to all the dealers and distributors of all brands of amphibious ATV products. You guys and gals do have your work and major head aches cut out for you. I do not know how you manage to do it, and continue to be as dedicated and loyal to the manufacturing factories of products as you are. Dealing with retail customers like myself is one huge pain in the a@#.

I much rather prefer to be a customer and a user of products than a dealer, it is much more enjoyable for me.

Well hold onto you shorts dealers I am back as a full blown customer and user of products once again! I am sure that I will be calling on a few of you over the course of time as I need machines and parts. Only the good Lord can help you to deal with me now Amigo's!
