Im' bringing my 440 liquifire Scrambler to Pete's Spring Fling. Pete says he can whip my butt with his 500 ATTEX SC. Any other takers out there? I might even consider doing the mud hole at Humphreys this year with it.

Poor Pete, Ran my Scrambler aginst his Attex SC on Sat. Pete is my friend but I sorry to say his Attex got smoked. Any body else want to come to Petes spring Fling and get their butts kicked,:-)

oh i'l try,
mine is fast but i did not build it for racing,

Marc,

Just watch out I don't tie a Chevy small block to the back of your scrambler before we start :)

Dave,

I think we will have a good match up :)

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageLink to this message   By pete6x6 on Unrecorded Date: Edit

Guys,

Shame I didn't buy that Rotax 503 triple water cooled :). But I wanted to use my machine for more than racing and since I can only afford one 6x6 right now what I got is good enough. :)

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageLink to this message   By david berger (Davidrrrd) on Unrecorded Date: Edit

yes pete g,
i think it'l be a good match, however mine has a rotax (bombadeer)and yours has a tahatsue (rupp)
mines stock and you said somthing about new oversized pistons and cylinders dident you?
i'll get a nice video of you pulling away out in frount of me, heh heh

Glad to see some other interest in the Drags at Petes. You have to be a little off center to drive the 440 Scrambler This thing will accelerate to 30 mph in about 60 feet. This was clocked with Petes radar gun. You have just about enough time to press the triger to get a reading. It will be interesting to see how long the chains hold up. I will be bringing a mint Marc 12 Scrambler and my Hustler for the trail ride.

hey marc what motor r u runnin sounds sweet tho *wishes he had a machine like that*

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageLink to this message   By Marc Stobinski (Jerseybigfoot) on Unrecorded Date: Edit

The motor is a 440 liquid cooled Koritz from a Liquifire John Deere sled. It has reed valves 2x Mikuni carbs and tuned sled exhaust. The cooling system was reworked with a 1100 cc Honda radiator.

well boys they sound quick but how about a reworked max with an all alluminun body custom frame with four frame rails inner and outer wheel bearings very heavy duty chain adjusters 6-30 chain o ring except trans chain its a 5.30 chain. heavy duty jack shaft supports. custom 1045 ground and polished axels and taper lock sprokets and a comet 102 clutch with approx 5100 stall with a 670 rotax engine thats fast o yea the wheel stands are insane.

Albert; Any pictures you want to post? what tires you run? What does the 670 rev to. My 440 Koritz suppos to get up to 8500. The trick is to keep the trans together when the converter is in overdrive and the clutches are screaming at about 10,000rpm. The t20 should hold together better as only the input shaft sees that speed. I am now working on the gear ratio and converter size. Also the brakes . I will probably use 1045 stress proof for the axles on my Hustler, CR just doesnt work well.

mr marc i have pictures but no scaner to show them. your ? to tires im running rawhide 3's. the rpm will run about 10500 but i dont think the clutch will allow that to happen i made a mistake on the frame it has 6 frame rails ive ben building this machine scince 1989 i put a 440 chapperll lc in it in 1992 and made hambuger out of frame in 3 months so i built my own frame and went with a 500 artic cat twin and now the big motor witch is no fun trail riding or hill climbing it is to mutch power probaly will go back to the 500 cc sprit engine witch made trail riding and hill climbing fun to ride

Albert that sounds awesome, got to post some pictures of that mean machine! Sounds like you have made some very nice upgrades to your machine.

bring it on april 6 in New Jersey i dont think you can get Marks 440 scrambler i know how fast it is i have run it

Guys,

This should be interesting:) Almost done my 440.

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageLink to this message   By Marc Stobinski (Jerseybigfoot) on Unrecorded Date: Edit

1hellon6wheels, Sounds like you have a neet ride. Your 6x6 reminds me of some of the machines i saw in the 70's. Once you start playing with horsepower you open a bucket of worms. How is th T-20 holding up? They should be good for the revs and Horsepower. Any heat problems? My Scrambler trans is super simple and efficent but the brakes and chains are the weak link. Its hard to say if it pays to redesign the origional components or put a T-20 in it. Where do you ride your beast.

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageLink to this message   By pete6x6 on Unrecorded Date: Edit

Marc,

Oh no doubt! I had to wled supports into the attex frame to support this new 440. sheesh!

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageLink to this message   By 1hellon6wheels on Unrecorded Date: Edit

mr big foot the t-20 has held up fine except chain strecth on the trans its the most often adjustment of the chains to bad its not a 6-30 chain that would be great for high horsepower machine ive worked out all bugs except i have broken 2 helixs in my driven the t-20 needs a 1 inch shaft for the driven so i could use a polaris roller bearing driven so i could make shift point adjustments its limited what you can do with a factory driven redesing the frame wasent that hard being a alluminun body i got very strong chain adjusters mounts and no heart prolmbems yet just some very big eyes from time to time i ride in indiana usally go to attica the badlands or larul or ex coal mines down south
