Christmas is just around the corner (yeah I know its scarry. I haven't even started Christmas shopping yet!) Many people go places and do certain things. Christmas is a holiday, thank God. What does everyone do during the Christmas and winter months with their ARGOs and Max. What makes winter and argoing or maxing more fun, etc.

I go as fast as insanly possible down the steepest hill possible and lock up oneside of my argo.In the mud and do Very Very fast donuts with the 40hp engine in it!Havent gotten to try it in the snow yet (Thats what im wishing for for christmas!)And I will admit to covering the dog with mud some times when i do donuts And also the buildings around and the walls and genrally what ever else is within 15 feet of the rear of the argo ;)I do agree about how fast christmas is coming.I to also confess I have not started shopping for christmas!

And also what makes winter argoing/maxing more fun is Nature provides the mud for us.So that way we don't "accidently";) have to leave the water for the pond running for a couple of hours. And also who doesn't love to stay outside for so long that you cannot feel your body but somehow still manage to be able to control you machine.

P.S. Hope every one has a Great holiday season!

lets all wish for a white christmas

I have tracks for my max4 and its fun to go all over.you can go anywere you want there great for hauling in stuff to a cabin or climbing hills and making new trails i use mine year round for hunting and just out having fun.with a top and sides it nice inside,we mount a 12 volt fan in the back to blow heat off the motor up front.you can ride with out a coat and be warm when its cold out.it makes ice fishing more fun to

travis is your max loud inside? I have a home made top with doors and your right is does get warm inside with the sun. even with no sun there is no wind so it is warmer. my feet do get cold though. mine was so loud inside that i couldn't stand it. couldnt even talk to other people unless you were idleing. I startedto sound proof my machine and so far it is alot better.not done yet still have to line the top with sound absorbing foam. but it is allready much quieter inside. where did you get your 12" fan and how did you mount it. With all the sound proofing i have done i don't have the heat coming in from the engine anymore. i was going to get a fan and duct the heat from the engine. My wife just bought me tracks yesturday as a surprise what a great surprise that was. I am going to put them on today so any suggestions on how to do that would help. Are the tracks as good as they say can you really go through 3 or 4 feet of snow and go where the snowmobiles go?

As long as the snow isn't super fluffy, it will go into extremely deep snow. I have had my ARGO in snow up to my chest and it just kept chugging.

As damen said, lets all wish for a very white Christmas. I WANT TO HAVE TO PUT THE TRACKS ON THE ARGO AS SOON AS I GET TO THE COTTAGE.

i just got my tracks on and they seem like they are getting a little close to coming off when i turn. how much air pressure should i have in the tires? how tight should the tracks be

If it's an Argo you're talking about, there should be 0.67 PSI with tracks. If you're talking about a MAX, I'm not sure, sorry.

Newmax I did sound proof my top with foam my back seat is now removable and has a solid floor baord for cargo i have a rear cmpartment wall that goes behind the rear seat up to my top the fan is mounted in the wall my side and rear curtains are vinyl good to -40 and snap to the top,you can get fans from Northern hydrualics.I can carry 4 people in any amount of snow and climb over hills that will scare you. you should run 5 lbs and in tires stay under ten for sure.do you have the extra bearings and support rails on the outside of your tub you will need those if your gettin wild have fun TJ

yes i have the bearing cages. i made some rails out of 1 1/4 inch aircraft aluminum rod and bolted it between each cage. i will up my pressure to about 5 pounds. is your max quiet inside? i did notice that i have a little wobble in my machine whith the tracks on. i checked my axles and they are not bent or wobbling. it is my extentions. is that going to be ok?

Top of pagePrevious messageNext messageBottom of pageLink to this message   By Travis Johnson (Akmaxman) on Unrecorded Date: Edit

newmax not sure about your rails if your rims are straight and axles ok did you bolt to the top or bottom of bearing cage the factory rail is like a mini cannel iron 4"wide and goes on the bearing bolt holes block it up and spin the tracks and check you rims then you can look at your extensions to mines not to noisy you can talk and here the radio are your extensions oem you should be ok you cant go as fast with tracks its faster with 26" wheels.have fun TJ

Everyone knows that I am always trying to get pictures of older ARGO ATVs doing different things. I really need to update my website, www.argomag.50megs.com, and I would really like any pictures anyone has of ARGOs with or without tracks in the winter. I will credit all the pictures to you and link your site on the link page.

Please let me know if you have any or e-mail them to me at djhkeeso@rogers.com

Thank you in advance.
