Is buying a new six or eight wheeler like buying a new car? In other words should I try to negotiate a better price with the dealer when he tells me the list price is $8900 or is that the price I'd expect to pay. I am looking at both the Max and Argo machines. Any feedback is appreciated.

Jeff,
I think Argo dealers has to sell you an Argo for list price and some even more. Max dealers can sell you a Max at any price. Negotiate the price and check around with different dealers.

I am not trying to drum up business - I'm in Australia - but I would say one thing.

Buy near your home base, if you can. This will make life simpler for you with regard to back up for warranty and servicing of your machine, regardless of which species you buy. There are people around who will buy at the lowest price from far away, only to complain about being so remote from their selling dealer when they need help. It’s also unfair to expect your local dealer to carry the can with any problems when you didn't buy from them in the first place.
